Epic Games awarded Theia a second MegaGrant (the first was in 2019) to fund development of BigRoom, a collaborative VR tool for Unreal Engine.
BigRoom is a shared virtual meeting room where VR headset users and desktop users work in the same space. You can review designs, annotate in real time, swap materials, and talk through changes together. It started as an internal tool. Theia needed a way to run remote design reviews with clients who didn't have VR hardware but still needed the spatial context that a flat screen share can't give you.
