Yuga Labs
Otherside Metaverse Framework
Yuga Labs built Otherside — one of the most ambitious metaverse platforms attempted by any Web3 company — but turning it into a real, playable live service required infrastructure that could handle multiplayer at scale, a functioning developer ecosystem, and partners willing to get deep into the platform before the tooling was even finished. Theia and Command Line became early adopters of the Otherside Developer Kit, and have since moved into a preferred developer role.
Solution

Two tracks. First: original game development — Theia has been commissioned to build dedicated game experiences for the Otherside platform. Second: infrastructure. Theia built portions of the core Otherside user experience, including a multiplayer backend framework that handles matchmaking, real-time chat, moderation, gameplay logic, and live-ops management. The framework runs on 50+ API functions coordinating between clients, servers, and PostgreSQL. This runs live service games stable 24/7/365.
The architecture follows the same middleware pattern Theia has proven at enterprise scale: connect disparate services, normalize the data layer, and deliver a clean experience to every downstream audience.
Outcome

Theia is embedded as a preferred development partner for Yuga Labs across both games and platform infrastructure. As Otherside continues to develop, Theia remains one of the core technical partners building it.
